This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are setting up a new patch of outdoor space and these live worms will be a benefit to the garden soil. The food scraps and waste they consume in the compost bin gets digested and transformed into some of the most nutritious earth material that lawns and gardens could grow in: worm castings!

The ample supply of nutrients provided by each worm composter helps your garden to grow healthier plants.

By feeding our food scraps to our worms for composting instead of throwing them away, my students can help to recycle nutrients and keep less trash in landfills. Using worm castings also reduces the need for harmful earth-destroying chemicals, instead relying on safe, organic production.
