Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title 1 funded school in a city school district. In our public city school, many scholars are diverse, multiple language learners, and at-risk readers. Currently, the entire school population receives free breakfast and lunch. Many scholars are also from low-income households. However, they are warm, loving, and continually searching for ways to grow and become better each day. I am honored to teach such wonderful children.
I enjoy providing scholars a multitude of experiences to connect the curriculum and enhance their learning while promoting equitable access and allowing them to be creative and stimulate their curiosity.
My scholars are eager to learn, excel, and connect the curriculum in the school library media center. As the school librarian, I am able to reach every student in the school. I have been teaching for 19 years, and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I strive to make learning fun and engaging as I have been focusing on transdisciplinary learning to help scholars have authentic and powerful learning experiences.
My Project
Studies indicate that reflection is an important part of growth. The requested journals will be used to promote opportunities to get in touch with innermost thoughts. Kids can write about what worked and what would change in lessons. They can write about things that bother or annoy them.
Journaling is important to promote critical thinking and problem solving so let's get writing.
Writing helps to improve academics as writers learn to transfer skills obtained in their personal lives over to school and work. Additionally, they can sketch in the journals as self-love and therapy as they are happy, bright and reflective. thank you for your time, consideration and support of public school children. When you care about them, you care about the future.
