My Project

The furniture that I am asking for will help give my students the choice of flexible seating. When I work at home, I sit at my couch, at my bar counter in my kitchen, or sometimes even on the floor! I want to give my students the same opportunity! I've noticed that lots of my students can't sit still at their desks, and prefer to sit on the floor, stand, or walk around. Having this furniture in our room would help us to get rid of some of the desk that don't always get used, and allow for flexibility and student choice.

There has been lots of research about trauma informed teaching and the effects the flexible seating has on it.

Put simply the idea that a student will be able to have a choice in their own learning is a lot for most students, but also the idea that they get to be comfortable and can focus on their academics and not on the uncomfortable seat they're in.
