Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The VR headset I chose for my classroom will allow my English Language Learner students the opportunity to virtually visit places they have only dreamed about visiting. Many of my students families do not have cars or travel beyond the neighborhood they reside in. The virtual reality headset will give my students the opportunity to take virtual field trips to places we are learning about in class. Learning about the Grand Canyon in class may seem interesting to some, but imagine being able to give the students the ability to be there. To soar over the canyon, getting a birds eye 3D view. How cool would that be! When learning a language, the best way is practice. We take more risks when we are excited about our learning. How amazing would it be to have my students so engaged in learning that they take that risk and orally share their experience with hesitation! I am so excited for them.
