This is my second year teaching Kindergarten, and although I have tried hard to create my own centers for my students, I find these Lakeshore Phonemic Awareness Centers to be most efficient and necessary for my students' success.

Learning English is not easy.

My students are not only at an age where they have to learn the foundational basics for learning, but the majority of my classroom has to do so while learning a language to which they have not been exposed. Since kindergarten is big on centers, it only makes sense to integrate phonemic awareness within these centers to support my students.

This complete Phonemic Awareness Center set will allow me to support all of my students by differentiating each center to accommodate their individual needs. For example, those students that need more support with beginning sound mastery will have the opportunity to work in a small group in that particular center, whereas, the students that have mastered this goal will work on something more challenging, such as counting syllables in words.

The visuals and manipulatives included in the set will tailor to the various learning styles of my students and will help my bilingual students immensely. There is nothing better than visuals when learning a new language, and these centers are wonderful because they provide my students with the materials to make them successful.

These intelligent, hard-working, and beautiful students deserve only the best. They deserve the chance accomplish their literacy goals, and feel just as proud of themselves when they manage to master a new concept.
