Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Ewww! Worms eat our garbage? My students are learning how worms make rich soil for our school garden... and we NEED more worms!

Our school is an applied learning school where students' learning is primarily through project based activities.

The students are eager to learn. We incorporate academic and community service projects into our curriculum and it is student driven. My students were curious about how plants grow. Instead of just telling them, we created a garden.

My Project

My kindergarten students have recently had the opportunity to start a school garden. They are completely fascinated with the life cycle of plants, the differences and similarities and most of all, the compost. With these worm composting kits, my students will continue to see how tiny red worms turn our organic garbage into rich, useful soil.

We need these kits because we want our garden to be very successful.

Eventually, we would like the garden to become a focal point of our campus. Our dream is to create a garden that the school and surrounding community can take pride in. Help us create "good dirt" in order for our garden to flourish!
