Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach first grade in a Title I school. Although my students may live in an impoverished neighborhood, my students are vibrant and will brighten up your day! They can be an energetic bunch! They are hard workers and love to show this to anyone who walks into our classroom or whoever they see in the hallway!
My students are an amazing group of children with different abilities and personalities.
They are busting at the seams to learn. They are excited to learn and grow.
My Project
“The ground's generosity takes in our compost and grows beauty! Try to be more like the ground.” ― Rumi
Our school needs a compost tumbler, compost supplies, and worm farms to start a compost system for our food waste.
This compost tumbler, compost supplies, and worm farms will educate our students to create less waste and how to compost food waste. They will learn how food waste can become compost with the help of worms. The compost will be used to fertilize our garden beds, which in turn, will generate food for our students.
This project will teach our students how to treat our Earth better by creating less waste, taking care of all living things: worms, each other, and plants, life cycles, and composting. This project will create a change in our school to benefit us all!
