Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 6th grade at a large middle school. The students come from all areas of the world and backgrounds. Learning to respect and appreciate the beliefs of others are critical to their success in the world.

Do you really know the major tenets of the world religions? My students live in a diverse city but are unaware of the world beyond their front doors or even their classmates. Their history books give a brief description of these religions but students have shown a curiosity in learning more about these religions.

Your donation would provide various reference materials about the religions we are studying. Students would then, in the classroom, be able to explore questions they have about these religions and experience them at their own pace and when they have them. Students are reluctant to search out additional materials or answers to questions if they have to wait until after school to go to the library or search on the internet. Providing classroom resources will allow students to seek answers as they have questions.
