World Read Aloud Day Extravaganza!

My Students

Our district believes in bringing a "world-class education with the rural advantage" to our students. Even though we teach students with a variety of economic backgrounds, our goal is to level the playing field by providing high-quality educational opportunities. Every student in the school has the chance to come to our Learning Commons in their classes, and they are constantly coming in for help with reading, research, STEM, and more.

My students live the rural advantage.

They embrace opportunities for hands-on learning. In our Learning Commons, students learn to work together and embrace their independence. They love that there are supports available for them to use. Our students have learned that sometimes to be successful, we have to ask for help. They also are amazing at collaborating and building each other up. We see all 500 students from every class and every ability level and allow them to challenge themselves.

My Project

Our school loves celebrating World Read Aloud Day, this year we were able to get authors to meet with us and we need more copies of their books to help get our students excited about these authors. These books by Sarah Darer Littman, Denis Markell, Lisa Fipps, Jo Knowles, Barbara Dee, Erin Soderberg Downing, and Leigh Lewis.

Our culture of reading encourages us to talk about books and get everyone excited about reading.

By celebrating World Read Aloud Day, we are connected students with books that make them feel seen!
