My students need keyboards for two tablets we received last year. They will be learning how how to type and print reports. We need materials to decorate the areas where we display our work.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in a high crime, high poverty area and we receive 100% free lunch for all students. The majority of my students are already facing challenges in trying to blend in and learn a new language. All 24 of the kids are English learners who have immigrated to this country. Many students come from households that are limited to helping them with basic skills. They depend 100% on all school materials to learn new concepts, do research and create projects.

My Project

We moved into our new campus last year, we have more space to display all of our hard work but the areas are very plain and dull. We also have tablets with no keyboards, we need keyboards so that we can type and publish our work. Once we print our work, we need to make our work stand out and not get lost in the dull walls. We need buliten board paper to cover our display areas inside and outside of our class. We have different themes in our RLA program and decorate our boards according to our themes, such Our Community. I would like to use the paper to create and display important places from our local community, such as our library, fire department and our school. We need crayon and tissue paper to create and decorate our work that will be hung out for display. My students deserved a beautiful, colorful and exciting background to display their work and feel proud of what they have accomplished. Being able to add color and decorations to our walls will make their work shine even more, all students will want and work hard to create a final project so it could be displayed. The entire school and parents will be able to view all of our colorful work and this will motivate all of my kids to keep working hard and create more work to be displayed!
