Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a school mental health team we want to continue to engage students in learning about mental health. This year we would like to set up painting stations with canvas and paint for students to be creative together during lunch.
We have a big school of about 900 students currently, and hope to offer 80 students who are open to trying something new the opportunity to find something they might be passionate about.
We also hope to continue building community, as we have observed that many students are not engaging with each other effectively. This is an opportunity to connect with more students and facilitate some interactions with people they might not otherwise meet.
We also would love to give out containers of kinetic sand which offers student a quiet, easy-to-access sensory activity for downtime during class or after they are done with testing.
