My Students

My third graders are creative, inspiring, innovative, and active. I am so grateful to spend my day learning alongside them. These students are involved in so many activities inside and outside of school, both in the community and outside. Our school itself, is a low income school in a rural community.

My students are eager to try new things and use their passions for good, and that's why I believe it's my job to give them the education they deserve to receive.

Our class is made up of so many dreamers and inventors, and I can't wait to see where the world takes them.

My Project

My students have a desire to create and build. I want to scaffold that desire by bringing more maker's space items into the classroom. With these new and exciting tools, like magna-tiles, paint, and 3D-pens, I will learn alongside my students, and be encouraged to ask higher level thinking questions to engage in their learning.

It is my desire to give students many opportunities to problem-solve and use their talents in the classroom.

With these items, students will be able to create 3-D art, and integrate science and math within their exploration. During our maker's space time, students will be invited to utilize these new materials and bring their ideas to life! Some items that I am requesting include 3-D pens, circuits and paint. Other items, I will be used to help organize the items for maker's space and STEM related projects.

My students seem to thrive with the incorporation of technology, and I can't wait for students to get their hands on circuits. I know that this will spark their creativity, and encourage them to build!

At the beginning of the year, I discovered that all the paint in my classroom had gotten old and dried up, I am already planning so many awesome activities that could be introduced with the restock of paint in the classroom. I can't wait to try many salad spinner projects with the paint!

I have always had a passion for art, I can't wait to be able to bring these passions into the classroom, and integrate them with STEM and Maker's Space. In addition, I can't wait to see what they will come up with. These students are super creative, and with the incorporation of these new materials, I will be able to create a more meaningful experience for students.
