it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are independent, eager learners at the Computer Science Virtual Academy. My class consists of 30 9th graders who are learning multiple subjects. My students face barriers that include low-income backgrounds and limited access to high-quality technology. I teach the PE classes, where I facilitate the curriculum lessons and well as lead PE workouts.
Our PE workouts are important since my students are in a virtual setting.
They are sedentary most of their days since they are in front of their devices for school. Being too sedentary can lead to long-term health issues like obesity, cardiovascular problems, and increased mental health issues. Our workouts will promote physical health by building strength, endurance, and flexibility, while also being fun and engaging.
By funding a yoga mat, mini stepper, and adjustable dumbbells, you will help me lead more effective workouts. I will be able to model strength exercises for my students. I will also show my students how to get steps in while we are working on our assignments.
