My students are so happy to be back in the classroom. They love being in the presence of other kids they know. I witness on daily basis how much they care for each other. If someone is confused or looking lost there is always a student that is willing to guide or show them what to do next.
They are eager to continue their learning in any way possible.
They have adapted very well to our new way of learning during this pandemic. I'm so proud of them!
My Project
With all the COVID-19 rules for social distancing my students need more activities that they can do on their own without a partner. My goal for this project is to give all my students the chance to practice their phonics skills with a variety of phonics activities and phonics flipbooks.
If we have a variety of activities in the room then every student will get the chance to have an activity at their table.
This will decrease the amount of time we spend cleaning at the end of our Daily 5 time. We will be able to quickly move onto the next activity since we will have enough options for everyone in the class to choose on a daily basis. I will be able to focus on cleaning the activities at the end of day which will give us more learning time.
