My students are excited about learning and I want to have all they need to stay excited as they learn so much in our classroom EVERY DAY! They are loving, inquisitive, and very hands-on learners. They love to learn and always have a great attitude in working to be lifelong learners.
Our school is a small, rural school that has close ties to the community.
Family is very important to our school! Many families are raised by single moms and grandparents! Churches work hand in hand with our school to be sure each student has what they need to learn. So much of the time funds are just not available to ensure students have the materials they need to perform at a high level. Parents want the best for their child, so they can be successful!
As soon as the students get to school they are ready to learn and eager to explore! They love to find out about our world and about science. They inquire about things that are new to them and are ready to share it with their families. They love to read and write as well as use their imaginations!
My Project
Working with words helps first graders to read! Daily practice with the supplies and materials listed in this project will make learning words FUN! The students will use these items during our Daily 5 time. Part of that Daily 5 time is learning with computers, therefore the headphones will be a great tool to ensure the students can hear properly. Our current headphones are tearing up from continued use and are old style (very bulky). Another part of Daily 5 is word work. The supplies will help students learn about words HANDS ON! They will be able to learn about words in creative ways using the stamp pad, play dough, word builders, and the sight word skillet as well as all the other learning materials which will help them remember all they do in learning about words. It will definitely be more enjoyable as well as FUN!
