This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am truly blessed that I get to move up with my students this coming school year! I want to make my Working Warriors learning experience as clean, and comfortable as possible. This group loves to work on the floor, which is why I would love new pillows for them to work and read on. To help keep a comfortable learning environment for those with light sensitivity, I want to lessen the brightness of the intense lighting in the classroom with fluorescent light filters. I also have quite a few students with allergies, so I added an air purifier to help with purifying the air to decrease dust and allergens in the classroom.
This group of Working Warriors absolutely love to help each other and surprisingly love to clean and keep things tidied up (even to the point where we have to rotate).
One game that they like to play is "the dirtiest wipe". This is where they each get a wipe and see who can get it the dirtiest. However, we usually end up running out of wipes so only a few can participate.
We recently just got Chromebooks for the class, so the headphones will help with focusing on tasks/ assignments and help decrease background noise. The surge protector with multiple outlets will help as a charging station for our Chromebooks. With each of the resources and tools, my Working Warriors will love and use them all!
