My Students

We are a first grade classroom at an urban, Title I school. My students come from a high-poverty area where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students do not have access to technology outside of the school setting.

My students are hard-workers and always put forth their best effort.

They strive to be successful and will accomplish great things in life. My students deserve the world and it is my job as their teacher to try and give it to them.

My Project

As first graders, sitting at your desk all day is a challenge. I want to help my students have the opportunity to get up and move around the room while doing their work. Many of our classroom activities involve roaming the room to complete different academic tasks to help them stay focused mentally and keep them moving.

Utilizing clipboards to do around the room learning would benefit my students in many ways and help keep learning active and engaging.

My students also need headphones to use while working at the computers in our classroom. Unfortunately, our headphones are old and do not work. Students are not able to take advantage of the amazing listening and learning opportunities that the computer has to offer due to the lack of headphones.
