My 16 first grade students are amazing! Every day they come into the classroom ready to learn. The warm and welcoming learning environment, as well as strong relationships we have built this year, allow my students to feel safe in the classroom.
At our school, 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch.
The students go through daily struggles, but school is where they can have consistency each day! Having a school community that supports my students and encourages them to do their best helps my students stay motivated and feel appreciated.
I learn from my 16 outgoing and bright students every day! With the support of each other, the school, and the parents, my students are having a great school year!
My Project
My students are very active and are constantly moving! They move around in their seats while they work. Flexible seating will help my students bounce and focus while they work!
Balance ball chairs with wheels and big inflatable chairs to sit on will be exciting and motivating for my students!
My students love moving, and being able to bounce or sit on a big chair will help them sit comfortably and stay engaged.
The balance ball chairs will be used during guided reading groups at the teacher table. The students will sit comfortably on the chairs as they work in small groups. The big inflatable chairs will be used in the classroom library for students to use as they read leveled books in the classroom library during literacy learning centers. The students' school lives will improve because they will be more engaged and excited to do their literacy work.
