My Students
My fourth grade students are incredible. They are very eager to learn and helpful to me. We are building a classroom community, which we call our home away from home. My students understand that we all need to work as a team to make this community work. They are also excited to learn this school year in innovative and fun ways.
My students are not afraid to ask me for what they need to succeed when doing an assignment.
They are older now, with more school experience and they are knowledgable about what resources will allow them to succeed. Since day one, they have worked hard to be the best students they can be. Many students come from struggling families and I want our classroom to be a place where everything can be accessible for them. I hope to be able to give them all the resources they need to thrive and succeed this school year.
My Project
Students often work together in groups and may be working in the carpet area. The clipboards will be useful when students have a piece of paper with them, it may be hard for them to write on their lap or on the floor. My students also come to the carpeted area for instruction and the students may need to bring a paper with them to take notes or go over an assignment they have been working on.
Having these dry erase boards and clipboard in the classroom for subjects such as math and ELA, it will give the students the confidence they need in each lesson and on each day to know they can achieve anything and they can understand it.
I want to be able to ensure that my students are able to succeed and I can assess them better when each student has dry erase boards or clipboards where I can check for the students' understanding effectively and quickly. During a lesson, my students may need time to practice the skill before going back to their seats and doing it on their own.
These dry erase boards can also teach the students that a mistake is a chance to do better. They are able to easily erase which is also saving the earth by using less paper. We have been going over recycling and with these resources the students are able to understand more about recycling and realize how much paper they will saving.
