This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a self-contained K-5 Special Education class. My students work so hard, but need breaks throughout the day. I would love to provide them with toys of their interest to play with during these structured breaks.
My students use a token board, every morning they choose what reward they would like to work for, we put a visual of the item on the token board, and after everything they complete they are given one token on the board, lastly once the board is filled they are given their chosen reward.
I have some toys already but my students all have very unique interests, this list contains dolls, plushies, action figures, and other items that will appeal to all of my students. I believe that by having toys they love they will be more inclined to work harder in class.
