This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have been working to create areas for students to experience science outdoors. We have two gardens. The garden for the lower grades, TK-2 was just created this year. In creating this garden, we wanted for the younger students to feel safe as they explored the flower beds.
The tables and benches will create a science learning area in the garden.
Students will have science and gardening lessons outside. They will be in close contact with the plants, vegetables and the live organisms that call the garden home. Creating this space for the lower grade students gets us one step closer to having all students experience growing food, planting flowers and appreciating the little critters that keep the soil healthy.
