My Students
I teach in an amazing school system with a great deal of potential. My children come from various backgrounds and share differing experiences. Many children come from single parent families or are being raised by grandparents.
Some children love to learn and others are learning how to love.
My students are doing both! My class is made up of 18 kind and thoughtful children. I am amazed at their compassion and thoughtfulness. We call ourselves the Kindness Kinders. We have recently published a class book to be shared with Kindergarten classes to come.
Children need an outlet to express themselves in a positive way and that is what we try to do every day! Walk into our room. Begin your day with meditation or yoga. Learn to love learning and yourself. That is what our classroom is all about.
My Project
My students need various materials like EarthBox: Ready to Grow Base Kit, Double Sided Dry Erase Boards, Ryan's Room Family Affair African American Family, and others to use for literacy and play to develop a love for learning and a way to express their love for themselves.The materials I am asking for will help my students to express themselves through writing, reading and play. Dolls and dollhouse allow children to practice skills and share experiences. Dolls and dollhouse families will provide opportunities for my children to express themselves positively.
White erase boards will allow my children to practice writing and reading skills in a more eco-friendly manner.
Children can practice decoding and encoding skills, as well as being able to answer questions through showing.
My children love to read big books but have difficulty handling them when stored improperly. The big book storage unit will help them see the books to choose from with more ease.
