I love having my students work in stations, while I pull small groups, for Mathematics and Language Arts. They enjoy the independence, while engaging with their peers, and being an integral part of their own learning as well. My students would benefit from various folder games and center activities, focusing on math skills (place value, money, multiplication, measurement, etc.) as well as ELA skills (grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension). These center folder games allow them to work independently and build confidence along with academic skills.
Furthermore, I would like a few rolling storage carts for my students.
This will provide ample storage and organization of the work station/center sets and will allow my students easy access as well as encourage them to be organized and responsible.
My students have endured more tragedy and upheaval in their lives in the last few months, due to the Lahaina fires, than most endure in a lifetime. With that being said, they are so excited and motivated to finally be back in our temporary school. To see them work with one another and to see how excited they are when I announce that we are doing station rotations, is priceless! If I can provide more engaging center activities for them to enjoy, it will mean the world to me and to them.
