Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is full of ambitious third graders that come from a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities. I teach reading and writing to a morning class and then an afternoon class with over 40 total students. They are eager to improve their reading and writing skills!
Striving readers are often asked to read texts that are too difficult, but not in our classroom!
Third grade is a critical year for reading success and also to get students in the habit of reading for pleasure. Our class has set reading goals and shared them with their friends and family.
My Project
This project will enable our class to organize the books we have received through another project. Our class is looking forward to being able to locate books quickly by genre. We love having our reading life organized!
The resources in this project will give us more reading time as the students will able to locate their favorite books faster!
It will also help me to keep track of the books borrowed and where to place them when they are returned. Checking books in and out will be a lot more efficient. Plus, the bins will have the books faced out so they are more appealing.
