Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach English Language Learners. They learn how to read, write, speak, and listen in English in my class. They learn so much throughout the year, and having the ability to share with their peers is such a crucial part of their learning. Having a classroom rug will give them a comfortable learning space, having a bookshelf will allow students to access books at their levels to practice their language skills, and having a projector will allow students to share and learn from each other. Also, we can use the projector to display visual supports such as pictures, vocabulary, and sentence starters to help them communicate and succeed.
English learners rely on the visual and auditory learning styles so a projector will enable them to show their work in addition to telling.
My students are amazing, and they need to learn English to be able to communicate their needs, socialize with their peers, learn all academic subjects, and often interpret for other family members. I consider it a privilege to teach them this skill and appreciate any help that can make their learning more effective.
