Our team athletes are hard-working students who are competitive, yet are struggling to win in competitions. Our team consists of students of all athletic abilities in 9th-12th grades. Being a low socioeconomic school, many of the students come from backgrounds with limited resources and opportunities. Despite these challenges they show up to practice ready to work hard! Our teams are looking at many different avenues to close the gap on our competition, this is one option that will help them!
My Project
I am trying to build up a PE equipment room to include the basics with weight and resistance equipment. I am starting with our sport athletes, but my main goal is to get the all grades on board to start a rotation system. This way our kids can learn how to throw and catch, kick and dribble, pass and shoot a ball, as well as engage in team sports. Many of our students don't have an opportunity to play sports outside of school and with proper equipment they can learn their skills now and be better prepared for the sports they are introduced to.
