My students need to have access to great resources such as a white board, laminating pouches, cardstock and board letters that will help them learn at their full potential.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in one of five fabulous first grade classes. Our school is approximately 100% free/reduced-price lunch.
Many of the students within our school don't have the money to buy basic supplies needed for the classroom, but they always come ready to learn.
I would like to create a safe and welcoming environment for my students for many years to come. My students are eager to have new materials this year. I believe that hands on learning creates an atmosphere where students can flourish and learn from others.
My Project
Today, our classrooms are built on the use of technology. Unfortunately, this means that my district will no longer provide other essentials I need to help my classroom function properly. Last week, my computer went out. With that went my smart board. My white board in my classroom is so old I cannot write on it and erase. I have to use acetone to erase my whiteboard. I have been doing this for the past several years to the point that acetone is no longer doing the trick.
I need to be able to teach when my technology gives out, so my students still get to visually see what I am teaching.
I can not teach first graders without a visual. I need a magnetic dry erase board to write spelling words. I need magnetic letters to build an objective wall on my board, so students can clearly see what they will be learning for the day. Please help in supporting our classroom and thank you for all that you do to support education.
