Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with students who have a variety of disabilities. Often times, I use incentives such as prizes, stickers, games, or pair an activity with something preferred. I am looking to find new and fun ways of motivating my student's to participate in occupational therapy by providing new incentives.
In the school setting, we often use a lot of token reward systems, use of positive reinforcements, sticker charts, first/then statements, and many other strategies to help motivate students to complete their work.
I am looking to expand my student's options for a reward after completing a hard task or non-preferred activity. These materials will help me incentivize activities that are not preferred and increase their participation! Kids are always motivated when they like what they're working towards.
