This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 23 students in my classroom (16 boys and 6 girls). They are part of 200 students that attend our elementary school. All of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and are all English language learners. They are always asking questions and working in groups to use their imaginations to create things.

It's so fascinating to see how much their little brains can learn and create when they are motivated.

They are the reason why I LOVE being a kindergarten teacher!

My Project

Donations in this project will be used for my students to have different fun activities to choose from after they are done with their classroom work. I will have each of the activities as part of a center they can do after they have done their classroom work.

Students will go to these fun centers while I am doing small groups.

This will motivate my students to complete their classroom assignments and to do their best work so they can have a chance to have fun while they are working on hand-to-eye coordination which will help them later on with one-to-one correspondence. It will help them work on their motor skill of hand grip which will help with their penmanship. It will also help with them using their imagination to use blocks to create different models of scenes from books we read such as castles, rockets, house, farm, and many more. Students will also learn their shapes when using some of these donations to create shape pictures.
