My students need stamps and magnets so that they can continue to learn how to identify uppercase and lowercase letters, identify the beginning and ending sound of words and also begin to identify sight words.

My Students
The students in my classroom come from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. They vary in their abilities and behaviors, but they are all friendly, lovable and eager to learn. They find joy and happiness in the smallest things and spend their school days making me laugh and smile.
My students are already at a disadvantage due to budget shortfalls, large class sizes and building deficiencies.
They deserve and need the same opportunities that other children in other areas receive freely.
My Project
My students are exceptionally hard workers. Our classroom environment is full of excitement and wonder each day. Although my students try their hardest they are lacking some necessary basic literacy skills. They need to learn to be able to navigate their surroundings but sometimes they have difficulty with this task. The magnets (both upper case and lowercase) will assist in them being able to spell out their first and last names, match uppercase and lowercase letters and begin to identify the concept of beginning and ending sounds in new and familiar words. Both the stamps and magnets will allow the students, who need to build upon their knowledge of letter sounds to match sounds to letters, they will also be able to form letters and get a better understanding of what individual letters look like. These supplies will allow the students to both work independently and in small groups. It will assist students in various ways. They will learn to share and work cooperatively, to increase the speed at which they identify letters and their sounds and also to immediately recognize sight words within different literary elements.
