This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am embarking on this journey to provide targeted speech therapy resources and materials for approximately 30 students on caseload. My goal is to equip my therapy room with the additional materials and resources to create a stimulating and effective learning environment.
Your generous donation will directly impact my students by ensuring that they have the necessary tools to address a wide range of speech and language needs.
Some students are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and benefit from different sensory diets. The trampoline allows for movement breaks that may be required for regulation for task continuation and completion. Students also benefit from limited lighting, so the lamp will replace the need for overhead lights. Younger students benefit from hands on and play activities to increase language skills. Having a bookshelf to display books and sort a variety of materials will aid in decision making skills, when they can choose from an array of materials. This will create a reading area within the therapy room, where students can lay on the mat and dive into the world of possibilities. Shared book reading will also take place in the reading corner. The picture cards are a great way to teach social communication skills and board games will create engaging learning experiences. Cars and magnet tiles are used for teaching imitation skills through play. Each item on this list will be used to enhance the learning experience as students work hard to improve their overall speech and language skills.
You will also help minimize the spreading of germs as we keep our surfaces clean. Every dollar donated will contribute to a student's journey towards clear communication, social integration and academic success.
