My students need manipulatives like Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs or Classroom Magnetic Letters Kits to engage in various word work activities to increase both their reading and writing skills.
Hi! I am a first year teacher with my first class of 24 kindergarteners. My kinders have lots of energy and are so excited about learning. They are so eager to explore and learn new things. As kindergarteners in their first year of elementary school, they are currently adjusting to the school structure and routines.
We are all learners in our classroom.
Although I am the "teacher" for my kinders, they also teach me so many things each and every day. We learn from each other.
My Project
The students in my class learn best through exploring manipulatives. Using manipulatives allows the students to do work that correlates to their current level of knowledge; their work can be differentiated based on their need of instruction.
Various word work skills can be practiced with these materials.
The students can work on letters/sounds, building words, and reading words. Students can visually see patterns between the letters, sounds, and words when using these materials. Manipulatives have a longer impact and influence on the students because they are more likely to remember hands-on activities compared to worksheets.
Please consider how these materials will benefit my students! We are so grateful!
