My Project

Word study is an instructional approach that focuses on helping students understand the structure and meaning of words. It involves activities such as phonics instruction, spelling practice, vocabulary development, and word analysis. Word study encourages students to explore how words are constructed, how they are related to other words, and how their meanings can change in different contexts. This approach helps students become more proficient readers, writers, and communicators. Word study is crucial for first graders because it forms the foundation for their literacy skills. It helps them understand the building blocks of language, such as phonics, spelling patterns, and vocabulary.

By engaging in word study activities, first graders learn how letters and sounds work together to form words, which enhances their reading, writing, and overall communication skills.
