Help me give my students more art supplies, especially sculpture supplies (Crayola air dry clay), printmaking materials, watercolor paints, and paint sticks.
My students range from five-year old kindergartners to 12 year old fifth graders, all with incredibly creative minds, varying abilities and skills, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for art! The students engage in a lot of different types of art projects, but they are hard on themselves and constantly restart their work because they want to do better. This is a big drain on the art supplies, but it says a lot about them: they want to be successful and keep trying until they feel they have it right!
What I love most about them is their creativity, originality, determination, and passion.
Many of the students come with more on their plates than any child should. They carry loads that would be hard for many adults to bear, but they try... and when they are engaged, they put forth energy and passion that could light the world on fire.
My Project
My students are creative, original, determined, and passionate! We try to integrate a variety of different styles and mediums of art into our lessons. Times are changing, education is changing, students are changing, but one thing has remained constant: supplies are always needed! With ADD and ADHD diagnosis going strong in the public school, art class is a great outlet and form of expression! With limited supplies in the classroom, we are often doing the same types of projects with the same types of materials. Providing the students with different creative options, especially sculpture supplies (Crayola air dry clay) as well as watercolor pads and paint jars, will allow them to show their creativity and focus on expressing themselves through their art.
