This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Woodwind instruments require new reeds every week or two. Playing on old or damaged reeds results in poor tone, and hard to play instruments. It is hard to tell with young players if their problem is the instrument, reed, or their technique. Having new reeds regularly takes away one of these unknowns. Many of my students can not afford to purchase a reed every week or two. This has been even more evident following the economic inflation in the wake of Covid 19. This project will ensure that my woodwind students have the equipment they need to be successful regardless of their socioeconomic status.
