This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My third grade students love to talk about everything. Having a relaxing area for them to sit in is my vision for promoting engaging conversations around reading. I am requesting this particular bench so it can provide a central location for students to meet, store their favorite books, and engage with peers at any time.
The wooden reading nook bench area will encourage students to relax and feel centered in a welcoming reading and learning environment.
Having a dedicated and comfortable reading area can influence students to read and encourage them to spend more reading in a cozy corner. Reading alone or with a teacher can improve students' confidence and encourage them to read more often.
