I am entering into my 14th year of teaching and I have loved every minute of it. There are wonderful days and there are challenging days. However, my love for children and teaching hasn't changed.
The smiles, the laughs, the light bulbs are all signs of a happy and growing leader.
My school has adopted the "Leader In Me" program to teach all our students about leadership and making lasting impacts on those around us and around the world.
My classroom is full of eager learners. These leaders are exceptional. They come to school to learn, play, and create. My leaders' needs vary in severity and area. They may have behavioral needs, academic needs, and social-emotional needs; each as unique as the individual learner. However, with the right resources and supports, they can do anything!
My Project
Our classroom is full of surprises! In the past two years, I started to create a "wonderland" environment to help my students' imagination grow. Our wonderland is based off of "Alice in Wonderland" where things can be topsy-turvy and full of excitement. I am requesting artificial trees and flowers to recreate the forest from this beloved story. The backdrops will help with covering up walls so when the students enter the room, they will feel like they are in a real wonderland. With this new environment, I hope to encourage creativity and taking chances. I have also requested dry-erase tape and markers so students can jot down any "wild" idea they may come up with to explore. Your support to this project will help bring a teacher's classroom dream come true and create an environment where "we're all mad" in a good way.
