As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, I know my students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. I have a great mix of students from a wide variety of backgrounds.
We are a small community with limited educational resources, and because of this, I want to make sure these sweet babies have everything they need to build a strong foundation of learning success in Kindergarten.
My goal as a Kindergarten teacher is to love my students, while fostering in them a love of learning! We do this in many ways, but one great way is interactive, hands-on activities!
My Project
My sweet Kindergarten students come in to my classroom at various skill levels. These marker boards will help my students learn to write within the lines, while easily being able to erase mistakes as they practice. The fine point markers allow their little hands to write big, without taking up as much space as a broad point marker would.
Once we have learned the basics of writing, we will move on to the draw and write journals!
These journals are so fun and easy to use for my Kindergarten writers. They have a picture box that allows students to get creative and draw what is on their mind. We then write about what we drew.
Not only will these materials help us become great writers, they will also allow us to form critical thinking skills that will help prepare us for first grade!
