My students need 30 basic water color sets, 30 fluorescent water color sets, and 100 sheets of water color paper for art projects.
This project expired on January 2, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My classroom is a place where a lively blend of first and second-grade students from a variety of backgrounds come together to build community and learn in a safe, welcoming place. 48% of the students at our school come from economically disadvantaged families. Many are dealing with trauma in their lives. Eleven languages are represented in our population. Meeting the needs of this diverse group of learners requires creativity, flexibility, and love. The space in our classroom is small, but our hearts are big and our potential to learn and grow is huge!
I have chosen two different sets of water colors and water color paper for this project. The water color sets that I inherited when I moved into my classroom have been used for years and now many colors are missing from most sets. I have chosen both a basic set that has red, yellow, orange, green, blue, violet, brown, and black. Additionally, I have chosen a set of neon paints that will allow us to make interesting and unique art projects.
My students love to paint, and whenever I can integrate art into any other academic area they are on board with all their enthusiasm and creativity.
I have beautiful projects planned for the year that will compliment, reading, science, social studies, as well as art technique and artist study. I hear cheers and squeals of delight every time my students know they will get to paint. It's really special for them, and we all appreciate your support in funding this project.
