Wonderful Students Need Wireless Tour Headsets

Help me give my students wireless tour headsets in order to be able to perform music in sync with each other while social distancing in class during rehearsals and performances.

My Students

Our high school students live in Honolulu, HI, and they love music. They are passionate about music and music-making. Music is what keeps them motivated to come to school. They excel in music, despite our school being situated in the midst of five federal housing projects.

Most of our students come from homes of highest poverty.

Our school has a 70% highly disadvantaged rate.

Beautiful music comes out of our orchestra room. Our students play with great passion. Music is what they excel at. Our students would never have been able to play in an orchestra were it not for the school orchestra program.

My Project

Our students need wireless tour headsets to be able to perform music together with students who are virtual and with other students who are in the physical classroom. The wireless headsets will allow students to be able to hear each other while social distancing during rehearsals and performances. It is often difficult to hear others while social distancing.

The wireless headsets will serve as in-ear monitors for the students.

This will allow students to be able to sync up their musical playing even while far apart from each other and from the conductor teacher. The headsets will help bridge the gap between virtual students and physically present students. This will help maintain a sense of ensemble while playing music during these difficult times.

Students will be able to continue their music making in class and during virtual video performances. Student learning and motivation will improve using the wireless headsets. The students will be able to continue their music making and learning. Presently, students cannot hear each other while making virtual video performers. The headsets will bring the performance back to some form of normality by allowing students to hear one another while playing music. Learning will improve because students learn by listening to others while playing ensemble music. The headsets will help to keep music making and learning slice during these very difficult times.
