This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During this school year, we have read different genres including informational text, expository text, and narratives. I noticed my students were very engaged when we read narratives about kids. Their participation and excitement while reading those stories increase. Their scores in reading also went up.

I believe my students will enjoy reading the story in Esperanza Rising.

This story connects with my students as it address family matters and situations that are similar to my students' families and experiences. I hope you will help me to reach our goal and help my students to be successful in reading.
