My Project
As years go by, we require more of students and teachers in early childhood. Unfortunately, many times we neglect those basic foundations that ensure our students will be successful.
At Mark Twain Elementary, we want to provide opportunities for our students to improve on some foundational skills such as listening comprehension and fluency.
We've identified that those skills are what are preventing many students from progressing. Not to mention, many of our students do not have family members that English readers or speakers, so that limits the support they receive out of the classroom.
Wonderbooks would serve as stations for our early childhood grades. This will allow students to work on their listening comprehension as the books have devices that read-aloud the text in an engaging manner. The Wonderbooks will also help our students work on their fluency as they use their decodable skills and their knowledge of sight words.
