My students are so full of life. They come to class everyday with smiles on their faces, and ready to learn. They are always excited about what will be in store for them each day. I try to keep learning fun!
I say to my class, "Do your best..." they reply, "..and forget the rest!" I want them to know that I believe in them and I want them to believe in themselves.
Despite some of the hardships my students experience on a daily basis, they are eager to come to school and give it all they got so that one day they can be successful one day!
My Project
Wonder is a book that I would love to use this year. This book will set the tone for the school year for my 5th graders. Wonder touches on themes such as friendship, acceptance, love, tolerance, bullying and family. It touches on what it means to be "different." These topics will make for great conversations. My students will learn not to judge someone based solely on their appearance, that being different is okay, that we should never use words that are hurtful and mean. I anticipate my students learning , the #1 message in this book, TOLERANCE!!
Donations to this project will greatly improve my classroom dynamic.
It will aide in class discussion and how my students treat one another. I truly believe that a story can change the lives of those who read it. I truly believe this story will do just that. "Courage. Kindness. Friendship. Character are the qualities that define us as human beings, and propel us, on occasion, to greatness." Wonder
