Help me give my students canvas, acrylic paint and paintbrushes to create a colorful art gallery to celebrate the contributions empowered women have left for our communities.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My lesson includes a project where all my AP Spanish students will do research on empowered women in the month of March for Women's Day. The research should include a small biography of the woman they choose to talk about. Each student will use the canvas, the paint and the brushes to paint a symbol or an image that represents the contributions these empowered women gave to our communities and to the world.
The goals for this project are to celebrate and commemorate the lives, dreams and struggles of women who have left a story to read and a legacy to honor in our world.
The students will not only read about human rights activists and scientists but they will have the opportunity to showcase profiles and contributions of the "Women Of Iron And Petals" making a gallery walk of their art.
My AP Spanish students have such a diverse cultural background and so many community role models to look up to. I want to give them the opportunity to find a connection and hopefully the necessary inspiration to continue their education. I hope that some of my students identify themselves with some of the women's stories and find similar dreams and struggles but most important that they see opportunities and solutions to their own identity search.
