My Project

I think this project will help open the eyes of young people in my class to what is happening in a part of the world they know little to nothing about. Therefore, it will inform them. I want my students to be global citizens of knowledge and this book will help take them into an unknown place. My students are unique and special being that they are gifted with some being neurodivergent. Some are high achievers in both math and reading. While others are twice exceptional.

Reading a graphic novel like this can reach all of these types of students.

My plan is to have Socratic Seminars where we will discuss what has happened recently in Iran. We will also have choice assignments where they can compose their own poems about what was read. Along with that they may choose to create their own pictures in graphic format based on what was read. Additionally, they may choose to do puppet shows or re-enact the chapters. Finally, students choose to create a series of tableaux showing what has transpired in the book.
