Women in History Biography Tutus!

My Project

I love to make learning engaging and meaningful. My students enjoy singing, dancing, acting, and making real-world connections. Students know that women have made significant contributions to society. They will learn more about the contributions of African-American women and their contributions. The materials for Women in History "Biography Tutus" will be used to help tell the stories about the women chosen for the project by the student. After researching, students will present the facts about that person's life, including what she did and how she made a difference in the world. Artifacts and items chosen to be placed on the tutu should also tell the story in an interesting way, showing what the person was really like, how she acted, her personal life, her education and occupation, important life events, areas of achievement and how others responded to them.

Students will demonstrate their learning and knowledge of their "Woman in History" by first, modeling their headwear, other costuming, and "Biography Tutu" with the required information, then giving an oral presentation about their person's life, and explaining why that person is inspirational to them.
