Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a low income school, where students don't typically have parents who attended college or have professional careers. I teach business and computer courses, where students have the opportunity to participate in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). The girls specifically have a hard time dressing the part for competition. It is typical for the upper class students in higher income areas to have the students purchase expensive navy blazers to wear, but our students simply cannot afford it. We would love a class set of blazers for both women and men, so they can look the part and compete at the same level. This year we took two women and one man to Chicago to compete and wished we had the navy blazers. Help our young women look like professional business leaders. Thanks.
