I am a 3rd grade teacher with 22 amazing, energetic students. Our student population consists of students from many diverse backgrounds. As a school, we serve a large English Language Learner population as well as low and middle income families. We support various levels of special needs within our classrooms. We strongly believe in the abilities of each of our students and encourage that students "work harder to get smarter."
Students need movement that allows them to wiggle while they learn.
Due to rigorous student centered curriculum, students are stationary throughout the majority of the day. My students will be able to perform better, interact more, and enjoy being kids while learning in the classroom.
My Project
Our students need the ability to move in the classroom while listening and learning with our fast-paced curriculum. Our students are using a few wobble seats now and the benefits have been amazing. They are learning and focused. We would love the opportunity for more of our students to have flexible seating during guided reading, direct instruction, or floor time. We would use this seating to aid kids who need the extra movement while learning curriculum.
The Wobble stools will help increase stamina and give students the ability to safely move while learning.
Flexible seating gives kids the opportunity to move while listening to the teacher. Kids will be able to interact with each other while sitting on wobble chairs. They can use these during independent work, listening to instruction, during guided reading, and all areas of learning. These would be a great benefit to our kids!
