Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

These students are from a Title I school located in a suburb of Georgia. My students love learning in a flexible seating environment but funds are not available to purchase supplies to support flexible seating in my classroom. These second graders have a lot of energy they need to express. Students need a way to do this without causing a distraction to others. This project is focused on purchasing six wobble chairs for 2nd grade students to help them focus while learning.

My Project

My students will be able to move while sitting at their desks without creating a distraction to others. The wobble chairs help students stay focused on their lessons and provides the necessary movement 2nd graders crave. With wobble chairs, students can engage with literacy, math, and technology skills. Students can get their “wiggles” out while completing necessary assignments, collaborate with others, and engage with the teacher at the small group table. By incorporating wobble chairs for these second grade students, students will be successful at learning their standards which will lead to a succesful and organized classroom!
