My students need Wobble stools to help enhance the flexible seating environment in my classroom. When students are restless and cannot sit still, Wobble stools allow them to move about without disturbing the class.

My Students
I am a second grade teacher in a rural low-income, high poverty school district. Many of the students in my classroom are on free or reduced lunch and are raised in single parent homes. They face many challenges that most of us could never fathom.
A big push in the technological age is to have flexible seating so that students can collaborate and move about during the day from one group to another.
PBL (Project Based Learning) is a big project we are taking on and flexible seating is a big part of PBL. Wobble stools are perfect for students with ADD, ADHD, or who are restless. Of my 20 students, I have 5 with a confirmed diagnosis of ADD/ADHD. Three of them are not on medication. It is hard for them to focus when having to sit still for long periods of time. With wobble stools, students would be allowed to move and not disturb others. They are an active bunch with lots of ambition and thoughts. They truly love to learn and love the flexible seating arrangement in the classroom. The wobble stools will give them an even wider choice to choose from.
My Project
There is a push for flexible seating in the classroom. It gives students choice, as well as giving them an outlet to move around when restless. Old fashioned desks and chairs do not give students the flexibility to be comfortable and move around without disturbing the class.
My classroom is made up of traditional desks, a couch, saucer chair, floor and crate seating, exercise balls and camping chairs.
I would love to add wobble stools to the choices I have already given the students. Wobble stools will give those restless, ADD, or ADHD students the ability to move around without disturbing neighbors or the entire classroom. And we all know that EVERYONE needs to move at some points in their day.
